Tuesday Strips on Hiatus
by Mary Stubbfield, News Writer
Earlier today, during a press conference held in SUB’s 3rd floor bathroom, co-creator and writer for Pop and Ice Cream and Kari Cherry, Evan Mudryk, announced that the Tuesday strips would be placed on a temporary, but indefinite, hiatus.
“We’re in final stretch of the winter semester and between pursuing editorial positions at the Gateway and trying to maintain B- averages, we simply cannot continue to produce two comics on a regular basis,” said Evan Mudryk, letting out a fart that he thought no one would notice, even though I totally did.
“It’s a disappointment for sure, but it’s temporary, and we’re looking towards the future now. It’s within our monkey fists.”
Kari Cherry, which had been made during the summer months and ran for the fall 2009 semester, ended in December and was not renewed immediately by its creators. Its future is currently unknown.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Kari Cherry, but Pop and Ice Cream is the comic we’re making right now, and anything beyond would be more work for Lance and he’s a lazy asshole,” said Evan Mudryk, of his cohort.
The news wasn’t all bad though. Evan Mudryk did confirm that newly debuted podcast, A Serious Moment, had been picked up for minimum 10 episode order–with the option to produce more episodes–and would, ideally, be produced on a weekly basis.
“We’re going to try. We’re really committed to this podcast and making it the best it can be. We’ve recorded a second episode and we have a lot guests interested in appearing on the show.”
“I’m excited. Are you excited? I’m excited.”
