Behind the TV Head

TV Head is probably the thing I love to make more than anything else on Pop and Ice Cream, but I feel that an important person behind the strip doesn’t get enough recognition.
The inspiration for TV Head has always been our friend Doug Johnson. He drew the original the sketch, and has played an important creative role in the TV Head comics more recently.
Above is his drawing he did for the opening chapter of The Space Odyssey storyline. I love the way he draws, but I’m not talented enough to copy it exactly, so I instead took the style of the strip in a more minimalist direction. His drawings are fantastic and I wish I had more to show you.
